For
some time already, Europe has been engaged in quite a number of cross-border
projects in the health
care sector. As stated by the European Commission in its April 2004 communication
on patient mobility and the development of health care, these projects
as well as their experiences are still fairly unknown. This finding gave
rise to the project “Evaluation of Cross-Border Regions in the
European Union (EUREGIO)”.
The ambition of the “EUREGIO” project is to give an overview
of cross-border activities, identify good practice models and to encourage
the exchange of experiences and information between health care actors.
The project will run for 36 months (06/2004 – 05/2007).
